Police to give update on Frein manhunt

1 min read

BLOOMING GROVE, Pa. (AP) — State police are planning to give an update on their manhunt for the gunman who opened fire at a rural Pennsylvania barracks three weeks ago.

Lt. Col. George Bivens will hold a news conference in Blooming Grove on Friday afternoon.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials have been searching for 31-year-old Eric Frein, who’s charged in the Sept. 12 ambush outside the Blooming Grove state police barracks. The manhunt is concentrated on a heavily forested area around the northeastern Pennsylvania home where Frein lived with his parents.

Frein has been described as an anti-law enforcement survivalist who is at home in the woods. He’s considered armed and dangerous.
