Warrant arrest: Michael D. Caldwell, 27, of 2805 Main St., Beallsville, was arraigned Friday on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. State police obtained a warrant for his arrest after he allegedly stole a computer Sept. 20 and tried to sell it at a pawn shop. The computer was later returned to the owner, Lori Fike of Beallsville. Caldwell was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Transformer fire: Canonsburg police and firefighters were called Saturday morning to Euclid Avenue and Como Street for a transformer fire.

Endangerment charges: Vanessa R. Mutschler, 27, of Pittsburgh, was arraigned Monday morning on charges stemming from an Aug. 8 incident in a room at America’s Best Motel, West Chestnut Street, Canton. State police said they found her and another woman inside the room after the women smoked crack in front of four children ranging in age from 2 to 5. Mutschler was initially placed in Washington County jail on a probation violation. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of endangering the welfare of children, possession of paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. She was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. Police obtained a warrant for the other woman in the room.

Trespass arrest: Geoffrey Wyatt Smith, 27, of 205 Tower Drive, Claysville, was arrested Sunday by state police after he allegedly went into a woman’s home on Spruce Road in East Finley Township. The woman told police she never saw Smith before and threw him out. He allegedly was on the porch of the residence when police arrived. Smith was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of criminal trespass, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Two charged: Shiann N. Huseman, 23, of 445 Lusk Road, Bentleyville, and Amber Pople, 22, of 440 Duncan Ave., Washington, were charged by East Washington police last week with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. They are accused of stealing a 27-inch television and PlayStation 4 from a home at 140 North Ave., and selling the items at a pawn shop. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Hit-and-run crash: James Mlatnik, 25, of Great Falls, Mont., told McDonald police Sunday his vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked on Homestead Drive. Police were trying to contact another driver who might have been involved.

Man wanted: McDonald police charged Adam Lee Mondine, 35, of 216 E. Barr St., McDonald, with simple assault and harassment stemming from an incident early Sunday at his home. He is accused of hitting Tara Amic and throwing her to the ground several times after an argument. Mondine was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka, who ordered him jailed on $10,000 bond.

Wanted in theft: Joyce D. Travella, 51, whose last known address was Carnegie, will be charged by McDonald police with theft and receiving stolen property stemming from an October 2013 incident at a home on Hill Street. Coins were reportedly stolen from the home by a caregiver. State police forensics processed the scene, and police said they learned last month the fingerprints on the evidence collected at the time belonged to Travella. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

DUI, marijuana charges: Heather Ann Arbogast, 31, of Pittsburgh, was charged by McDonald police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop early Saturday on East Lincoln Avenue. Police said she refused to submit to a second test to determine her blood-alcohol content after the first one revealed she was more than 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

Vehicle hit: Rebecca Steele, 41, of South Strabane Township, told North Franklin police her vehicle was hit by an unknown object as she drove in the 500 block of Park Avenue. The hood of her vehicle was damaged, the windshield was smashed and a windshield wiper was broken.

Man arrested: Michael Kronket, 18, of Robinhood Lane, McMurray, was charged with terroristic threats, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and possessing an instrument of crime following an incident at 6:29 p.m. Saturday, township police said. Kronket arrived at a residence on Fox Run Drive, Venetia, and when the resident arrived at the door, police said Kronket entered even though he was not invited in. He produced a black-handled, 6-inch knife and threatened a visitor at the house, police said. Kronket was pushed out the front door and left, police said. He was later apprehended by police. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

DUI arrest: Richard Davidson, 61, of North Haft Street, Houston, was charged with DUI following a two-vehicle accident at 9:21 p.m. Saturday on Washington Road at the intersection with Crosswinds Drive, township police said. Davidson’s blood-alcohol content was almost double the legal limit of 0.08 percent, police said. His vehicle struck the rear of another southbound vehicle driven by Brian Stull, 34, of Louise Avenue, Morgantown, W.Va., that was stopped at a traffic signal, police said. Neither driver was injured.

Disorderly charge: Chad Stewart, 28, of Weirton, W.Va., will be charged by South Strabane police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly tried to hit Donald Wright, 54, of Houston, with his vehicle during a confrontation in a Racetrack Road parking lot Saturday morning, South Strabane police said.

Receiving charge: Kimberly Jane Lucas, 27, of 615 Valley View Terrace, Canonsburg, was charged Thursday by state police with receiving stolen property. Police said two vacuum cleaners stolen Sept. 28 from Bed, Bath and Beyond at The Highlands in West Virginia were found in her vehicle when it was stopped by South Strabane police. Her boyfriend, Daniel Cordera of McMurray, has been charged with the theft. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Caller conned: An 87-year-old Union woman was conned out of cash after a man claiming to be a family member called her and asked her to send bail money Wednesday, Southwest Regional police said. She was directed to obtain a Green Dot prepaid debit card and provide the caller with the numbers. She later learned the caller was not her grandson.

False reports, resisting charges: Bruce Kelley, 36, of 123 Church St., Washington, was arrested early Monday by Washington police after he reportedly was found in a fenced yard at 902 Chartiers Ave. He allegedly gave police a false name and then tried to run. Police used a Taser to subdue him. Kelley was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of false reports, resisting arrest and loitering and prowling at night. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Burglary: Nellie Salansky told city police Sunday she was checking on a vacant house she owns in the 700 block of Broad Street when she noticed the glass was broken in a rear door to the residence. She found a sleeping bag in an upstairs closet. The former tenants were evicted, and Salansky told police she believes someone broke in to sleep there.

Attempted robbery: City police said a man attempted to rob the 7-Eleven on West Chestnut Street about 2 p.m. Sunday. He tried to jump over the counter when the register opened and said he had a gun, but ran away when the cashier closed the register and refused to give him money. A store employee described him as black with a scruffy beard. The man was wearing blue jeans, a maroon and gray hoodie and a gray beanie.

Assault: Tracy Levith reported to city police her son suffered a broken ankle and leg when he was assaulted near a friend’s house in the 100 block of West Walnut Street about 4 p.m. Saturday. Levith told police the teenage suspect pushed her son off a ledge after a verbal confrontation. She said her son would have to undergo surgery for his injuries. Police are investigating.

House burglarized: A home at 64 W. Walnut St. in Washington was burglarized late Saturday night and two video game systems, a laptop computer and several video games worth a combined $1,245 were stolen, city police said.
