PennDOT schedule announced
The state Department of Transportation has issued the tentative work plan for Greene County roads for the week of Oct. 13. Maintenance activities are conducted weather permitting. Motorists should drive with caution through work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights, said Jerry Simkovic, county maintenance manager.
Crews will be conducting the following activities:
• Scour protection improvements will take place on various routes.
• Open grid deck repairs will begin on Route 2003 at Crawford Field in Waynesburg.
• Side dozing activities are scheduled on Route 3011, Hargus Creek Road and Route 3014, Bluff Ridge Road.
• Joint and shoulder crack sealing continues on Interstate 79 from Waynesburg to Ruff Creek.
• Shoulder cutting and grading will be conducted on the Interstate 79 ramps in Kirby and Waynesburg.
• Washout repairs are scheduled on Route 18 and Route 21 in Center and Morris townships.
• Base repairs and bridge cleaning activities are scheduled on Route 18, Franklin, Washington, Morris, Freeport and Jackson townships.
• Patching will begin on Route 21 from Junction Deli to Waynesburg. Pavement patching on repaired slides is scheduled on Routes 3007, 3010, 3011 and 3022.
• Ditch cleaning and shoulder stabilization activities are scheduled on Route 1011, from Jefferson to Clarksville.
• Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
• SCI-Greene will conduct roadside litter pick up operations on Route 218, from Waynesburg to the West Virginia line. Please drive carefully when encountering this moving operation.
