Clarksville Lions recognize students of month
JEFFERSON – Victoria Conti and Gavin Koratich, seniors at Jefferson-Morgan High School, were honored by Clarksville Area Lions Club as students of the month for September and October, respectively.
Conti, daughter of Jody and Elizabeth Conti of Jefferson, maintains a 4.20 grade point average.
She is a member of Leo club, National Honor Society, and is a letterman for track and field and the Academic Team.
She has volunteered much of her time to community service, participating in White Cane Day for Leo club, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Washington, working at spaghetti dinners, making valentines for the Senior Center in Jefferson, and also helping with landscaping in the courtyard at Jefferson-Morgan Junior-Senior High School.
In the fall, Conti plans to attend college to become a certified nutrition specialist.
Koratich, son of Michael and Tammy Koratich of Waynesburg maintains a 4.12 grade point average.
He is a member of Leo club, golf team, foreign language club, drama club, debate team, Academic Team, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and is president of the National Honor Society.
He was awarded the Fredrick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony award, is a member of the 4.0 club and was recognized as a junior Deacon for Calvary Baptist Church.
Koratich has volunteered his time at spaghetti dinners, Salvation Army bell ringing, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Keeping PA Beautiful (Adopt a Highway) picking up litter. He also helped fundraise for Dancing with Colby’s stars and Kicking Cancer’s Butt Tournament.
He also helps with Junior Church teaching and building planter boxes for residents to grow their own vegetables at Rolling Meadows nursing home.
In the fall, he plans to attend college for a four-year BA degree in history as a prerequisite to law school.
