Company offers challenge grant to food bank

1 min read

CentiMark Corp. is challenging residents and businesses in Washington County with a matching grant of up to $50,000 to the Greater Washington County Food Bank for donations received by Nov. 21.

The food bank expects to serve more than 5,200 families a month during the upcoming holiday season.

“We are serving more and more people each day, and of those we serve on a regular basis, 30 percent are children and 20 percent are seniors,” said Connie Burd, food bank executive director. “Receiving a challenge grant like this one from CentiMark is a godsend.” The company, which has its headquarters at Southpointe and 80 offices around the U.S. and Canada, supports local food banks in those communities with donations and drives.
