A Donora man is in custody over accusations he severely beat a Carroll Township woman for several hours last month at her home.

Township police arrested Lamont Dixon, 35, of 783 McKean Ave., on a warrant Thursday, charging him with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment and harassment, court records state.

The charges were filed after Chelsea Cichon went to the township police station Sept. 19 to report she was assaulted by Dixon for more than four hours, beginning at 9:30 p.m. a day earlier, resulting in her suffering injuries that needed to be treated at Jefferson Hospital, the affidavit indicates.

Cichon said Dixon is insecure and controlling, and he called her on her cellphone and sent her text messages demanding to know her whereabouts Sept. 18 while she visited a relative.

She told police Dixon then waited for her on the porch to her residence at Terrace Drive until she arrived home that night, where he allegedly said “her would beat the truth” out of her, police stated in the affidavit.

Dixon is accused of holding her to the floor by standing on her left wrist, kicking her in the legs, choking her until she nearly became unconscious, smacking her in the ear and banging her head on the floor several times. The assaults ended about 2 a.m. Sept. 19, police said.

Police said Cichon signed a statement indicating the abuse she suffered “needs to stop before he kills her,” the court record states.

Dixon is in Washington County jail on $500,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
