Police beat Oct. 28
Burglary reported: Anita Davis, North Jefferson Avenue, Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police Sunday night that her apartment had been burglarized. She came home to find items moved and her drawers searched. Stolen were a diamond pinky ring, two new T-shirts and two packets of prescription medication.
Woman assaulted: Emily Markle, 23, of South Strabane Township, told Canonsburg police Sunday that she was assaulted by another woman on Tannehill Street. Charges are pending against her alleged assailant.
Interference with custody: Destiney Nicole Ealy, 20, of 10 Bel Air Drive, Canton, was charged Friday by state police with interfering with the custody of children after she allegedly allowed a 16-year-old boy reported as a runaway into her apartment on Sept. 25. She also drove him around in her van, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Assault, harassment charges: Dorian Eli Wallace, of 176 May Ave., Washington, was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted Christina Helmick Oct. 19 at a home at 920 Weirich Ave., Canton. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI charges: Rebecca E. Plaisted, 45, of 210 Railroad St., McDonald, was charged Friday by Chartiers police with driving under the influence of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol stemming from an Oct. 6 traffic stop on West Pike Street. Her blood-alcohol content was almost 2 1/2 times the limit presumed for intoxication. She also had an open can of beer in the cup holder of her vehicle. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Disorderly charge: John P. McConaughey, 21, of Wellsburg, W.Va., was charged by state police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly got into a physical confrontation Saturday with people at 213 Campground Road, Independence.
Theft arrest: Thomas W. Keith, 45, of 83 E. Katherine Ave., Washington, was arrested Friday by North Strabane police on a warrant on charges of theft and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. He is accused of stealing cash, equipment and supplies from Brandon Hudock, 24 Hothouse Lane. Hudock had hired Keith to do work for him at property he owns. Keith reportedly kept money for building fees and the equipment loaned to him by Hudock was not returned. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released from Washington County jail after posting $2,500 bond.
Wallet stolen: Bobby Willard of Canonsburg told North Strabane police early Monday his wallet containing $100, bank card, and other identification was stolen from his locker at The Meadows Casino, Racetrack Road.
One-vehicle crash: A New Eagle woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday on Bebout Road, near Boyer Road, township police said. A witness following the car told police the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. The driver, Suzanne Klingensmith, 72, of Crestview Estates was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment, police said.
Retail theft: Christa Lynne Santee, 42, of Ridge Point Circle, Bridgeville, was charged with retail theft and theft after police said she stole more than $1,000 in merchandise over several days from T.J. Maxx, 3945 Washington Road, township police said. Santee is accused of entering the store on Oct. 18, 19 and 20, and stealing merchandise that she returned for gift cards. She was apprehended Friday when she again tried the same. Police determined she has multiple previous arrests for retail theft and an outstanding arrest warrant from Allegheny County, police said. Santee was taken to Allegheny County jail.
Tools stolen: Plumbing tools were stolen from a truck on a job site on Millers Run Road, township police said. The theft was reported at 1:39 p.m. Thursday. The tools are valued at about $4,000.
Criminal mischief: An arrow was shot into the side of an above-ground pool on Mohawk Road causing about $1,000 in damage, police said. The incident was reported at 4:25 p.m. Friday.
Two charged: April Michelle Wood, 43, and a 16-year-old girl, both of Wheeling, W.Va., were charged by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, Friday. Wood was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $500 bond. The girl was released to Wood’s son.
Theft, drug charges: Daniel Lee Robison, 24, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Friday by South Strabane police on charges of retail theft, possession of crack and paraphernalia, after he allegedly stole tennis shoes from Zumiez, Tanger Outlets. He had suspected crack and paraphernalia when apprehended. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
Garage entered: Phillip Chappel of Washington told South Strabane police Sunday a weed trimmer and gasoline can were stolen from his parents’ garage on Nannie Street.
Wife arrested: Dana Penatzer, 37, of 114 Hall Ave., Washington, was arrested Saturday afternoon by Washington police after she allegedly punched her husband, William Penatzer, in the face and then hit him in the face with a steering wheel lock. He went to Washington Hospital for treatment. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of aggravated assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Simple assault charge: Jorden Jones, 23, of 685 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged with simple assault and child endangerment after city police said he struck a woman in the face at their apartment Oct. 19.
Two cited for fight: Washington police said they cited two people who were seen fighting Oct. 18 outside their home at 758 Allison Ave. Police cited Lonnie Tinsley, 38, for harassment and disorderly conduct, and cited Renee Daugherty, 37, for harassment.
Aggravated assault: Clifford M. Vankirk, 19, of 415 W. Maiden St., Washington, and Eric D. Richards Jr., 20, of 67A First St., Avella, were charged by Washington police with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, reckless endangerment and use of a handgun. Vankirk was also charged with harassment and Richards was charged with disorderly conduct. The pair are accused of threatening to kill two men at a Ewing Street address in September, police said. The charges were sent from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft charge: Dennis Sean Burns, 42, of Wakeman, Ohio, was arrested Sunday by state police on a charge of retail theft for allegedly stealing a 48-inch HD television from Wal-Mart, West Brownsville. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond.
