1 min read

An Eighty Four man was found dead at about 6 a.m. Tuesday of an apparent heart attack after failing to return from hunting the day before.

The body of Randall Hufnagel, 48, of 60 Carl Ave., was found by firefighters searching a wooded area behind FTS off Route 519 in North Strabane Township, according to a news release from Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.

He was reported missing to North Strabane by his girlfriend after he failed to return from hunting Monday evening. Police said he had killed a deer and was dragging it out of the woods when he suffered an apparent heart attack. His girlfriend said he had previously undergone heart surgery and would not take his medication.

Warco said the cause and manner of Hufnagel’s death were pending.
