Social Service League member Debbie Coss, who has been working the League’s craft show since 1995, helps a prospective buyer at last year’s show. The 20th craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Waynesburg Central Elementary School.

WAYNESBURG – For 20 years the ladies of the Social Service League of Waynesburg worked diligently to bring a fun, festive day to their community, and this year will top all others. The 20th annual Holiday Extravaganza craft show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Waynesburg Central Elementary School and is open to the public.

The show has grown considerably over the years. The first year, there were 15 crafters presenting their wares, now there are 60 filling 94 tables and spaces. The show features homemade crafts including baskets, photographs, large and small wooden crafts, jewelry, sewing and crochet and home-baked items.

There are many returning crafters, including Debbie Coss of Boone Hollow Baskets, who was with the show since its first year and several who participated for more than 15 years. Each year, the league tries to involve new crafters to keep the show exciting and fresh.

Some of this year’s new crafters will display homemade cards, dips with samples, Swarovski crystal jewelry, burlap wreaths, embroidered items and personalized wooden name plaques.

As always, the ladies of the league will be selling homemade soup and sandwiches, as well as home-baked goods and fresh fruit cobblers. There will also will be a crafters raffle, and roasted chickens will be available for takeout. The activity room will once again be offered to occupy children while parents shop and parking is free.

Proceeds from the event will help to provide necessities for children in Central Greene School District. For more information on Social Service League come to the show or contact any member.
