A Donora woman was charged Tuesday after police said she admitted to stabbing a man last week.

Jessica M. Sullivan, 28, of 202 Meldon Ave., was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, tampering with evidence and disorderly conduct. She was arrested after Donora police received a call about a stabbing.

Police arrived at 253 Thompson Ave. about 11 p.m. Oct. 22 and found Mark Gajdosik bleeding from the face. While being treated for his injuries, Gajdosik told police that Sullivan stabbed him in the face and back and fled to their apartment on Meldon Avenue.

Police located Sullivan at the address and took her into custody. They said Sullivan admitted to stabbing Gajdosik, telling officers she was tired of him verbally and physically abusing her. According to police, she said the pair got into an argument before the stabbing along Second Street, where Gajdosik struck her and pushed her to the ground. Police noted in their report Sullivan had bruising and scrapes to her face and arms.

Sullivan told police she threw the knife into the woods after the stabbing and ran back to Meldon Avenue. Police searched the area but could not locate the knife.

Gajdosik admitted to arguing with Sullivan prior to the stabbing.

He said Sullivan threatened to slice his throat and kill him on several occasions during the previous week. He was transported to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment.

Sullivan remains in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 10.
