Man robs Morris Township store
A man who robbed a gas station in North Franklin Township last week is believed to have struck again in Morris Township.
State police said a man with black paint covering his face, a bandana on his head and wearing a camouflage jacket – the identical description of the person in the North Franklin heist – robbed Jim’s Stop and Shop convenience store at 4554 Prosperity Pike at 9:35 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the man walked into the store, asked for two cigarette cartons and demanded the clerk give him cash out of the register. The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and the robber left the store property in a blue Chevrolet Cobalt, police said.
A man matching that description went to the Valero convenience store at 1390 W. Chestnut St. Monday morning asking for cigarettes before showing the clerk a gun and demanding money. North Franklin police said they think the robber left the scene in a dark red pickup truck.
State police said Friday they think the two robberies might be connected.
Anyone with information in either robbery is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200 or North Franklin police at 724-228-9610.
