Chartiers VFD plans open house

The Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an open house and safety day from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the fire station, 2450 W. Pike St., across from the township building.

There will be tours of the fire station. The township police department, local ambulance services, STATMedEvac and Washington County Hazardous Materials Team also will be participating. Residents will be able to check out the equipment from the different departments.

Township officials also will be available to help residents interested in signing up for the emergency alert system.
