Woman cited: Challe L. Martin, 20, of Charleroi was cited by California police for underage drinking, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after she allegedly caused a disturbance early Thursday in the 200 block of Wood Street. Police said when confronted, she because argumentative and was taken into custody. While at the police station, she allegedly attempted to damage property.

Drug arrest: James Lawrence Harper, 21, of 519 Blaine Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested Wednesday by Canonsburg police after he allegedly sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to a confidential informant. The informant reportedly called Harper and made arrangements to meet in a parking lot of a business on Adams Avenue. Harper was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Woman conned: Sally Jenkins of 135 W. College St. told Canonsburg police Tuesday she was conned out of $1,000 by a woman who contacted Jenkins’ son regarding the sale of his BMX bicycle. The woman agreed to pay the $450 asking price and also included in her check an additional $1,000 for “shipping,” with Jenkins to return excess funds in the form of prepaid debit cards. After the check was deposited and cards sent to the alleged buyer, Jenkins learned the check was a fraud.

One injured: Larry Silvestros, 57, of Hillcrest Drive, Canonsburg, was injured Wednesday when his vehicle and a vehicle driven by Mark Vukotich, also of Hillcrest Drive, collided on Adams Avenue, Canonsburg police said. Silvestros was taken to Canonsburg Hospital and transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Assault, endangerment charges: Jon Anthony McGinnis, 32, of 100 Crile Road, Washington, was charged this week by state police with simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass for allegedly nudging Robert Kubacka of Hickory with his vehicle. The incident allegedly occurred July 14 in a parking lot at 300 Commercial Drive, Canton. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

DUI, underage drinking: Kenneth W. Pattison III, 20, of 1880 E. Maiden St., Washington, was charged this week by state police with underage drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Henderson Avenue near Oak Grove Road, Canton. State police said his blood-alcohol content was more than four times the 0.02 percent limit presumed for intoxication in drivers younger than 21. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Car fire: Corey J. Evans of Elizabeth reported someone set his vehicle on fire Wednesday while he was at 100 Jessop Place, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to call state police.

Liquor law violation alleged: Angelo’s Lounge Inc., 590 Low Hill Road, was cited for failing to have a clean dispensing system between April and July, state police said. Angelo’s Lounge faces fines and a suspension or revocation of its license.

Three charged: Three people were charged by Chartiers police stemming from an Aug. 9 party at 112 Wide St. at which police said suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Police were initially called about 1:20 a.m. after a neighbor reported her mailbox was knocked over. When police entered the home of Jody Zylo, 48, of 112 Wide, they said they found more than a dozen people between the ages of 15 and 20 in the basement. Zylo, Zacchary King, 20, of 241 Caldwell Ave., Canton Township, and Isaiah Yarbrough, 19, of 527 Chartiers Ave., Canonsburg, were charged with possession of paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Zylo also was charged with corruption of minors. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Guns stolen: Clement Kovalowski of Canonsburg told Chartiers police Tuesday three rifles, two shotguns, a handgun and $200 in silver coins were stolen from a home at 352 Oak Spring Road. The guns were in soft cases, he told police.

Charged with theft: William Lee Wachner, 44, of 142 Hobbs Run Road, Mt. Morris, was charged with four counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property after East Bethlehem police said he stole three guns, $640 cash, three ammunition magazines and several holsters from a home in the 200 block of First Street in the township. Police said Wachner was working as a contractor in the home when the guns went missing July 18.

Two arrested: Glenn S. Cubbage III, 44, and Brenda Dawn Evans, 43, both of 30 1/2 Becker St., Houston, were arrested by state police after a physical confrontation early Thursday at their home. She told police he had a gun. He told police he threw it into the woods so she would not use it on him. She is accused of scratching words into his vehicle because she was angry after a bartender reportedly told her Cubbage left a bar with another woman. Both are charged with simple assault and harassment. Evans also is charged with criminal mischief. Both were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released with orders to have no contact with each other.

Retail theft: Employees of CVS pharmacy, 3870 Washington Road, McMurray, told police a man and a woman, who was carrying a large purse, entered the store Wednesday and went to the cosmetic aisle. The couple made several trips in and out of the store before being confronted by an employees who advised them police would be called. The man lifted his shirt and placed three items, each valued at $18, back on the shelf, police said. The woman removed several items from her purse and placed them on the shelf before leaving. Employees did not know how much merchandise was removed before the couple was confronted. At the same time, store management reported to police a man entered the store Tuesday, removed a bag from his pocket, placed items in the bag, walked out and left in a blue vehicle. An inventory determined packages of Crest Whitestrips, Rogaine foam for men and Rogaine lotion for women were stolen. The total value is $980.

Charged in crash: Christina D. Bennett, 34, of Bovard, Westmoreland County, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving stemming from a March 17 crash near the intersection of East Beau Street and Warrick Drive. She crashed her vehicle into a tree. Police said they spotted an empty bottle of spiced rum on the passenger side floor. They said Bennett’s blood-alcohol content was double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. She was placed in Washington County Jail on $2,500 bond.

Retail theft arrest: Caressa D. Garrison, 24, of 242 Kings Road, Washington, was arrested Tuesday by South Strabane police after she allegedly stole 25 items valued at $175 from Lowe’s, Strabane Square. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on a charge of retail theft and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Shop robbed: Washington police are investigating a robbery at LeBleu Crepes, at 192 S. Main St., in which someone stole $322 from the shop’s cash register shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday while the store clerk was in the back. The person also stole the worker’s purse and $50 cash inside, police said.

Home burglarized: A contractor working at a home in the 10 block of Wilson Avenue Wednesday reported a burglary in which copper pipes were stolen, Washington police said.

Purchasing alcohol for minors: Gage Mercer of 339 ½ W. College St., Canonsburg, was charged with purchasing alcohol for minors and possession of drug paraphernalia after Washington police said they saw juveniles drinking at 564 W. Chestnut St. Aug. 20.

Disorderly conduct: Tracy Wise, 42, of 109 W. Walnut St., Washington, was cited for disorderly conduct after city police said he was heard yelling near his residence Aug. 20.

Harassment: Vanessa Cleckley, 24, of 126 Hall Ave., Washington, was cited for harassment after city police said she slapped and punched her boyfriend at her home Aug. 20.

Criminal mischief charge: William T. Ankrom, 20, of 135 Main St., Hickory, was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly kicked a vehicle parked at 50 Campbell Ave. Aug. 11, city police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Liquor law violation alleged: VFW Post 927, 106 E. Maiden St., was cited for gambling violations July 10, state police said. VFW Post 927 faces fines and a possible suspension or revocation of its license.
