Sept. 17, 2004, is a day few Washington and Greene County residents will ever forget.

Families were marooned in their homes, children were stranded at school and roads became rivers when remnants of Hurricane Ivan washed over local communities almost 10 years ago.

Four businesses and 30 homes were destroyed and 495 homes and 131 businesses were damaged by nearly half a foot of rain, which fell just a week after Hurricane Frances left the ground saturated.

The Observer-Reporter wants to hear your stories from that day and the aftermath. Fill out the form below, or email staff writer Kathie Warco at kwarco@observer-reporter.com.
