North Strabane home burglarized

1 min read

North Strabane Township police are investigating the daylight burglary of a home on Anderson Drive.

Police said the rear door of the garage at the home of John Moeller, 103 Anderson, was forced open between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday. A safe was apparently dragged from the basement to the garage. The safe had been cut open.

Moeller is compiling a list of stolen items, which includes watches and coins taken from containers. The basement area and bedrooms also were ransacked.

Detective John Wybranowski said daylight burglaries are unusual. He asked anyone in the area who saw suspicious vehicles or people to call police at 724-746-8474 or the non-emergency dispatch number at 724-229-4600.

Wybranowski asked that residents call police if they see suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

“It is easier to check out a person and find nothing than get called out later for an investigation,” he added.
