Centerville man pinned under tractor dies
CENTERVILLE – An 80-year-old Centerville man was killed Wednesday night when his tractor apparently overturned and crushed him.
John Marchando Jr. was found pinned underneath his tractor by his son at 6:15 p.m., and Marchando was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.
The cause of death was ruled accidental due to sharp force trauma. Warco said Marchando was operating a tractor with a brush hog attached to cut grass on his property along Route 481.
Centerville Borough police are investigating the incident. Richeyville Volunteer Fire Company and Brownsville Ambulance Service also assisted.
