Man to be sentenced in December for attack on nun
ALIQUIPPA (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania man will be sentenced this fall in the rape and physical assault of an elderly retired nun last year.
Nineteen-year-old Andrew Bullock will be sentenced in November after pleading guilty in July to rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated assault and in the December attack in an Aliquippa church parking lot.
Authorities said the 85-year-old nun was at a recycling bin when a man offered to help, then exposed himself, punched her in the jaw and knocked her face-down to the ground while screaming at her.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that a spokeswoman for the order said in a statement that the victim “is profoundly relieved” that she won’t have to appear in court and asked for prayers for her attacker and herself.
