Venetia Road bridge replacement plans to be displayed
The state Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to display plans to replace the bridge carrying Venetia Road over Peters Creek at the border of Nottingham, Peters and Union townships. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at Union Township municipal building, 3904 Finleyville-Elrama Road, Finleyville.
The new bridge will be constructed on a new alignment which will eliminate the S-bend in Venetia Road. There is another small culvert located approximately 500 feet down the road that will also be replaced with the project, and the railroad crossing will be resurfaced. A detour will be used during construction.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed project scope, traffic control, schedule and other relative information. In addition, PennDOT and its consultants will be available to answer questions and gather feedback.
