WILKINSBURG (AP) – Police say a man was shot as he sat in a booth at a Western Pennsylvania restaurant and later died at a hospital.

Officials in Allegheny County said the 31-year-old man, whose name hasn’t been released, was at the Fireside Caribbean Restaurant and Catering in Wilkinsburg.

Authorities said another man shot him in the chest at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday and then fled from the establishment through a back door.

Allegheny County homicide detectives said the victim was taken to a hospital, where he died that evening.

Police are asking anyone in the area who may have seen the suspect to call county homicide investigators.
