Local man acquitted of indecent assault

1 min read

WAYNESBURG – A Greene County jury of nine women and three men Friday acquitted a Waynesburg man charged with three counts of indecent assault.

Frank D. Robinson, of 861 Ridge Road, was charged by state police with inappropriately touching two girls who were under the age of 13 on at least 10 occasions during a 16-year period ending in December 2011.

The trial before Judge William Nalitz involved just one of the victims, now a 28-year-old woman who was 10 years old when the incidents allegedly took place.

State police filed the charges Sept. 3, 2003, after the woman and another female, who was 16 years old, came to them with similar accusations.

The 16-year-old told police Robinson engaged in inappropriate behavior with her at various times since she was 5 to 7 years old, touching her inappropriately, talking about sexual matters and twice offering to buy her sex toys.

The cases are being tried separately.

The second case is scheduled for jury selection Nov. 18.
