WAYNESBURG – A structure fire at 375 Dark Hollow Road, Franklin Township, destroyed a two-story home shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The residents, David Zollars and Lindsey Cain, were not home when the fire broke out.

Neighbor Seth Wilson said he saw smoke coming from the eaves and called 911. Wilson was able to let the family’s pets safely out of the house.

The Waynesburg/Franklin Township and Jefferson Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the call.

When they arrived, the fire had engulfed the home. Firefighters were continuing to squelch flare-ups around the eaves of the home shortly after 4:30 p.m.

No cause was given for the fire.
