Valve on McDonald water tank gives way
A valve near a 500,000-gallon water tank on Fifth Street in McDonald burst about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, sending water spewing down the street for about an hour.
Pennsylvania American Water Co. spokeswoman Josephine Posti said a crew was replacing a water main in McDonald when it encountered a pressure issue that caused the valve to burst.
Two dozen customers in the McDonald area had no water or low pressure for about an hour until crews were able to shut off the flow of water.
