Federal agents, state police seize Ecstasy from Chartiers man’s home, office
Federal agents and state police raided a Chartiers Township man’s home and office Thursday night, seizing a large amount of the drug known as Ecstasy imported from China.
The raids resulted in the arrest of Adam M. Nagy, 34, of 400 Hallam St., Meadow Lands, by state police on charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy, according to court documents.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and postal inspectors entered the case when they opened two packages being shipped from China to Nagy’s home, and another addressed to his office at 2800 N. Main St., and allegedly found evidence that led them to those locations, the affidavit supporting the criminal complaint states.
Search warrants served at Nagy’s residence and office about 8:15 p.m. Thursday produced 4 ounces of Ecstasy, otherwise known as Methylenedioxymethamphetamine and MDMA; 9 ounces of the designer drug known as bath salts; vials of steroids; an unknown type of powder; two pill presses and empty capsules indicating drug production was being carried out in Nagy’s office; syringes, and $7,000, the record states.
Nagy is in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond set Thursday night by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
