Travelers asked to avoid ambush suspect hunt area

1 min read

BLOOMING GROVE, Pa. (AP) – State police are asking travelers to avoid the area of northeastern Pennsylvania where a manhunt for the suspect in a trooper ambush is underway.

Trooper Connie Devens said residents in Price and Barrett Townships in Monroe County should stay inside because of police activity in the area.

No other information was immediately available.

Police are searching for the Eric Frein, the self-taught survivalist accused in last week’s deadly ambush at a state police barracks.

As many as 200 officers at a time are trying to flush 31-year-old Frein out of the dense, boggy woodlands where he’s believed to be keeping out of sight. Frein lived in Monroe County with his parents.
