Police beat Sept. 23
Officer assaulted: John W. Holmes III, 34, of 132 Rose Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday after he allegedly pushed Chartiers Township police Officer Edgar Ellis who responded to assist Canonsbrug police with a disturbance call at D’s Locker Room, 26 N. Jefferson Ave. Holmes was asked to leave after falling asleep at the bar and was escorted out by an employee. He reportedly caused a disturbance outside the bar. Once inside the cruiser, he also allgedly kicked the windows. Holmes was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. He was released from Washington County jail Monday after posting $5,000 bond.
Drug arrest: John McClain, 51, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Saturday night by Canonsburg police on charges of public drunkenness and possession of paraphernalia and cocaine. He was found passed out behind Citizens Bank. When police checked him, they found suspected cocaine and paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
School bus incident: Jonathan Finley of Washington was charged with unauthorized school bus entry over allegations he confronted a GG&C Bus Co. driver and prevented him from closing the bus doors about 4 p.m. Friday at Buena Vista and Baird streets, state police said.
Charge filed: Mickie Z. Parkin, 24, of 117 Orchard St., McDonald, was charged Friday by McDonald police with failure to provide drug-free urine after she arrived at the McDonald police station Sept. 4 for a urine test done by a Washington County Adult Probation officer. Police said she was found concealing a bag of another person’s urine. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Tank damaged: Walter Neil of 406 Park Ave. told McDonald police Thursday a hole was apparently drilled in the bottom of the gasoline tank of his pickup truck, and 34 gallons of gasoline was drained from it.
Vehicle scratched: Ramphuay Wing of 106 W. Lincoln St., McDonald, told borough police Friday vandals scratched her vehicle several times while the vehicle was parked in a lot at West Lincoln and Station streets.
Money stolen: Tyler W. Smith, 21, of 165 Bench Ave., Washington, is charged in a summons filed by township police with stealing $300 from Comfort Suites, 2110 North Franklin Drive, while he worked its front counter about 11 p.m. Saturday, court records show.
Money, cards stolen: Logan T. Pape of Canonsburg told North Strabane police her wallet containing $80 and credit and debit cards was stolen while she was at Canonsburg Hospital Sunday.
Quad stolen: Dean Martik of Eighty Four reported his 2009 Kawasaki all-terrain vehicle stolen Sunday from 68 Withrow Road, state police said.
Underage drinking: Two 17-year-old township boys will receive citations for underage drinking after they were found to be intoxicated during the homecoming dance at the high school at 8:19 p.m. Friday, township police said. School officials notified police of one student who was intoxicated, and another student was found passed out in the restroom, police said.
DUI alleged in crash: Joseph S. Bellaire, 51, of Imperial, was charged by McDonald police with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after his vehicle went over an embankment Friday night on Noblestown Road near West End Drive. Police said he had an open bottle of whiskey in the vehicle. His blood-alcohol content was almost three times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, according to police. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Copper, items stolen: A representative of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission told McDonald police Tuesday 50 feet of copper wire, a garbage disposal and an air-conditioning unit were stolen from a house it purchased at 2121 Candor Road, Robinson.
Vehicle damaged: Jonathon W. Vanderhoof told state police Saturday the tires on his vehicle were flattened and a bottle of women’s perfume was stolen from the vehicle when it was parked overnight along Old Plank Road.
Vehicle arson: A state police fire marshal ruled arson as the cause of a fire about 5 a.m. Sunday that engulfed a 2005 Hyundai owned by Shelly Edwards of Washington, city police said.
Vehicle fire: A woman wearing a tie-dyed shirt was seen running away from a 2003 Kia Mini owned by Molly Zaricki of Washington before the vehicle caught fire about 3:45 a.m. Saturday outside Zaricki’s residence, city police said.
Theft report: John Miller of 21 E. Chestnut St., Washington, told city police about 10:25 a.m. Friday copper wire and other parts were stolen from two of his window air-conditioning units.
Hit-and-run charges: Daniel J. Dailey, 22, of Bell Avenue, Burgettstown, is charged by city police with damage to a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He is accused of fleeing after his vehicle struck another at 777 Jefferson Ave. about 2 p.m. Saturday, court records show.
