Man gets 3 to 6 years in beating death outside Kittanning bar

KITTANNING (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to three to six years in a beating death of a man outside a bar on St. Patrick’s Day last year.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that 28-year-old Dennis Rosenberger tearfully apologized Tuesday in Armstrong County Court. He was one of four men charged in the March 2013 death of 39-year-old James Sullivan of Chicora in Kittanning.

Authorities said Rosenberger acknowledged having sucker-punched Sullivan, who fell and hit his head on the pavement, fracturing his skull. He pleaded guilty in July to aggravated assault and involuntary manslaughter.

Thirty-four-year-old Keith Brison and 20-year-old Anthony Bove are awaiting trial in November on criminal homicide and aggravated assault charges. Forty-five-year-old Otilio Cosme is awaiting sentencing next month after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
