Pennsylvania trooper shot during gun training

PLYMOUTH (AP) – A Pennsylvania state trooper has been accidentally shot during gun training.

State Police Cpl. Gerry McShea says the shooting occurred Tuesday at the Montgomery County Fire Academy. He says the trooper was taking part in yearly gun qualifications when he was shot.

The trooper was flown by helicopter to a hospital.

McShea says he can’t release any information on the trooper’s condition until later.

The campus where the shooting occurred has classrooms and training facilities for firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians.
