Shots fired at Allenport home
ALLENPORT – Shots were fired early Saturday at the former Allenport residence of a man who carried out a murder-suicide last week in the Mon Valley.
State police said several shots were fired about 2:10 a.m. into the house at 19 Middle St. where Ryan Lee Foster was living at the time he filed for divorce from Jeanne Bennati, 51, of Allenport, whom he shot and killed outside her home.
Foster, 42, who was living in Charleroi at the time, shot and killed himself in nearby Dunlevy following the Sept. 23 murder.
His body was discovered the following morning.
Police said the house on Middle Street, which was occupied when it was riddled with bullets Saturday, was owned by Sandra L. Foster.
A woman with the same name and living in Allenport was identified in Ryan Foster’s obituary as his mother.
A woman at the house Tuesday declined to comment on the case.
The gunman fled in an unknown direction after shooting at the dwelling.
It was not known if the person fled on foot or in a vehicle.
Police have said there is no evidence to suggest the incident was related to the murder-suicide.
Anyone with information regarding the case involving the Middle Street house is urged to call police at 724-929-6262.
