Applicants sought for chamber scholarship
The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce is reminding area high school seniors the application deadline for the 25th annual chamber scholarship is 4 p.m. April 15.
The scholarship program is open to any Greene County student who will be graduating in 2015.
In honor of the 25th anniversary, the scholarship amount was increased to $2,500. The recipient will also receive a laptop computer, courtesy of PCsquared and a custom backpack from Greene County United Way.
The chamber urges all high school seniors who were accepted to a college or technical school as an incoming freshman this fall and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better to apply for this scholarship.
Applications are available in the chamber office at 143 E. High St. and at each county high school as well as Greene County Career and Technology Center. Applications can also be obtained by calling the chamber at 724-627-5926 or downloaded from the chamber website at www.waynesburgchamber.com
The recipient of the scholarship will be announced in early May and presented at the chamber’s general membership luncheon May 27.
