Resident assaulted in theft: State police are investigating an assault and theft from a home at 65 Laurie Lane in Amwell Township about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a woman entered the home by breaking a window, attacked the resident by grabbing her hair and trying to punch her and stole a game system and television. A car’s windshield was smashed outside the home. Police did not identify the attacker and said they are continuing to investigate.

Dogs seized: State police said they will cite Norma Hall, 64, of 350 Beacon Ave., Canton, for obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct after they went to her home to check on the welfare of numerous dogs. Police said she would not let officers in when they arrived about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. They eventually seized a dozen dogs from the home.

Burglary reported: An apartment at 165 W. Wylie Ave., Canton, was burglarized between Monday night and Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Theft, drug charges: Rebecca Kloster, 26, of 118 Jeanne St., Canton, was charged with access device fraud and identity theft after state police said she stole her grandmother’s credit card and spent nearly $14,000 between Nov. 7 and Jan. 21. Police said they also charged her with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a heroin overdose at her Canton Township residence Feb. 4. Kloster was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by District Judge David Mark and taken to Washington County jail on a combined $50,000 bond.

Indecent exposure: Police are looking for white man with brown hair in his late 30s to early 40s who exposed himself Tuesday evening to a woman in the parking lot of the Subway restaurant on Millers Run Road in Cecil.

Drug charges: Jeremy E. Bush, 30, of 344 N. Johnson Road, Chartiers, faces drug charges after township police said he was found with marijuana and prescription pills following a probation check on another man. A probation officer went to 529 McGovern Road about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to check on Donald Wright, 25, and allegedly found the two men smoking marijuana outside, according to court records. Bush was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession. He was arraigned Wednesday night by District Judge Gary Havelka and taken to Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. Wright was remanded to jail for a probation violation.

Shed fire: Chartiers Township firefighters extinguished a fire that spread from a burn barrel to a shed at 345 N. Cherry Ave. shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday. No one was injured.

Assault charge: Washington police charged Betty Underwood, 36, of 42 E. Wheeling St., with simple assault after officers said she punched and slapped her live-in girlfriend in the face during an argument shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday. Underwood was arraigned by District Judge Gary Havelka late Wednesday night and taken to Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
