Ex-inmate claims halfway house counselor had sex with him
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The attorney for a former counselor at a Pittsburgh halfway house is promising to “fully and vigorously” contest allegations that the counselor had sex with an inmate.
Attorney Erin Dolfi represents Debra Stevens, who is being sued along with Renewal Inc., which owns the halfway house, by the former inmate.
The Associated Press does not typically name people who claim to be victims of sexual abuse.
Dolfi says she normally doesn’t comment on litigation, but called Stevens “a quality person” who will contest allegations that she had sex with the inmate at the Renewal Center and in hotel rooms she paid for beginning in October 2013.
The inmate’s attorney contends the two had sex about five times and is seeking unspecified damages in a lawsuit.
