Hundreds attend annual Easter egg hunt

Fifteen children won prizes for their decorated basket during Easter events held March 28 at Mon View Park in Greensboro.

More than 250 kids and adults spent last Saturday searching high and low for 4,300 Easter eggs hidden across Mon View Park in Greensboro.

The Greene County Department of Recreation’s annual Easter egg hunt and skate offered prizes and gifts to the participants.

Tyler Reese, 6, of Rices Landing, found the one egg that contained a special “recreation” coin and won an iHome wireless speaker system.

Numerous children also participated in the Easter basket decorating contest at the roller rink and the winners were awarded prizes in four different age groups.

• Ages 1 to 3: first place, Austin Halbert, 3, of Nemacolin; second place, Kalei’a Chun, 10 months, of Nemacolin; and third place, Kyleigh Reese, 3, of Lakelynn.

• Ages 4 to 5: first place, Eric Carter, 5, of Jefferson; second place, Ke’Lani Chun, 4, of Nemacolin; and third place, Kaleb Reese, 5, of Lakelynn.

• Ages 6 to 7: first place, Hunter Addis, 6, of Masontown; second place, Skylar Pike, 6, of McClellandtown; and third place, Wyatt Downs, 7, of Dilliner.

• Ages 8 to 11: first place, Madison Addis, 8, of Masontown; second place, Cacy Cardine, 8, of Cardale, and Maryah Demaske, 9, of Jefferson; and third place, Cody Downs, 8, of Dilliner, and Alexia Conard, 10, of Waynesburg.
