Library to hold writing workshop
The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg is offering a five-week creative writing workshop that will begin during National Library Week from April 12 to 18. The workshop will kick off at 5:30 p.m. April 14, and meet again at 5:30 p.m. April 16.
Waynesburg University senior Abigail Hancher, an English and creative writing major, will facilitate the workshop, which is free and open to youth and adults interested in the creative writing process.
During the five-week course, participants will learn the basics of fiction writing: developing characters, developing plot, creating description and settings and writing dialogue. Participants will also write a short story.
The meeting dates for the workshop are April 14, 16, 21, 23; May 5, 7, 12, 14, 19 and 21. The meetings are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.
