Police beat April 7
Items damaged: Fang Fang of 313 Euclid Ave. told Canonsburg police Saturday her porch light and screen door were damaged by vandals. She said pottery was tossed off her porch the previous night.
Theft case: Tina Vetter, 41, of 1600 Walnut St., Monessen, is charged by township police with bad checks, theft and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse her of cashing four paychecks twice to steal $1,728 from a couple in her care in the 100 block of Tower Street between Jan. 23 and March 2. She is free on $5,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Charged in disturbances: Nicholas Deicas, 25, of 513 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, and Sierra Glendenning, 20, of 477-A Pike Run Drive, Daisytown, were charged by Charleroi Regional police with disorderly conduct stemming from separate disturbances in Charleroi last week.
DUI alleged in crash: Matthew S. McCutchan, 36, of 547 Millers Run Road, Cuddy, was charged Wednesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and other traffic violations after he allegedly hit a parked vehicle March 20 on Donahoo Street in Cross Creek. Police said his blood-alcohol content was nearly double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Attempted break-in: Matthew and Margaret Kline of 414 E. Lincoln Ave. told McDonald police March 29 that an attempt was made to break into their home. The two told police they could hear someone turning the door knob. No one was found in the area.
One injured: Brittany Arndt of Sturgeon was injured when her vehicle struck a pickup truck that was stopped in the middle of Route 50 near Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday morning. Mt. Pleasant police received reports from other drivers, including Arndt, of the truck being driving erratically on Route 18 (Henderson Road). When Arndt rounded a curve, the truck was stopped. Police said the driver got out of the truck, yelled at her and fled. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. The truck was silver with diesel stacks. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-356-7917.
Assault charge: Anthony Cooke, 24, of 36 Woodland Road, Hickory, was charged last week by Mt. Pleasant police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at their home Tuesday. The girlfriend, who was not identified, told police he broke furniture, pushed her down and held her down, covering her mouth. She told police she fled to the home of a family member. The woman was taken to Canonsburg Hospital. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Two face charges: Timothy McCullough, 20, and Roxanne Weltert, 18, both of Chicora, Butler County, will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after they allegedly were found with the items Wednesday at Fifth Street and Highland Avenue in North Charleroi. Police were checking a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Assault arrest: Kasey Erin Robinson, 26, of 368 Pennsylvania Ave., North Charleroi, was arrested Saturday night by Charleroi Regional police after she allegedly punched Marcel Irizzarry in the face during an argument. Police said they also found suspected marijuana hidden in a baby food jar. Robinson was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. She was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
DUI arrest: Christopher John Trusty, 24, of Londonderry, N.H., was arrested early Sunday by North Strabane police on charges of DUI, careless driving and failure to stay in his lane stemming from a traffic stop on Racetrack Road. Police spotted him driving erratically and his BAC was more than twice the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released on his own recognizance.
Theft: Police are investigating a theft at a residence in the 100 block of Bittersweet Circle, Venetia, that was reported Friday. According to reports, The owners of the home returned home from vacation and noticed a credit card and an electronic game console were missing. The incident remains under investigation.
Three-vehicle accident: One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident that took place Friday afternoon in the 3800 block of Washington Road. Police said vehicles driven by Lisa M. Grimm, 47 of Galaxy Drive, West Newton, and Diane Tatano, 48, of Walnut Street, Houston, were at the stop light at the intersection of Washington and McMurray roads when a vehicle driven by Robert Stopevich, 74, of Linden Road, Canonsburg, hit the rear of the car driven by Grimm and pushed her into the rear of Tatano’s automobile. No one was cited, but Andrea Hoffman, 54, of Heslap Street, Donora, a passenger in Grimm’s car, complained of neck pain and was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
House burglarized: Dean Spink of 1356 Hilltop Drive, Robinson, told McDonald police Tuesday that an attempt was made to break into his home. Two screws were removed from the hinge of a door, but it does not appear anything was stolen.
One injured: Karen Metz, 56, of Prosperity, was injured Sunday when her vehicle struck the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by Martin Gates, 35, of Washington, that slowed for traffic on Park Avenue (Route 18) near Annuity Drive, South Franklin. Police said Metz will be cited for careless driving.
One-vehicle crash: Joshua D. Ralston, 32, address unknown, suffered serious injuries when his vehicle struck a barrier on Interstate 70 east about 11 a.m. Monday, state police said. Ralston was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, police said.
DUI, weapons charges: Joshua Ralston, 32, of Washington, will be charged by state police with DUI and person not to possess a firearm after police said they found him intoxicated with a shotgun while parked on the shoulder of Interstate 70 at the Jefferson Avenue ramp in Washington Friday. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Machines seized: Five video gaming machines were seized Friday from Keystone Progressive Association, 219 S. Main St., Washington, by members of the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement during an open inspection for illegal gambling.
Fuel stolen: A manager at Coen Oil, 1045 W. Chestnut St., told Washington police Friday that two former employees stole 550 gallons of fuel. Charges are pending.
Cellphone stolen: Johnny Jackson of Canonsburg told Washington police Friday his iPhone was stolen from the Sunlight Club on East Maiden Street. He had the cellphone charging. He said he forgot it when he left the building, and it was gone when he returned.
Game system stolen: Paul Snyder of 109 Gibson Ave., told Washington police Saturday that his Xbox and controllers were stolen from his home. He discovered the items were sold at a pawn shop. Charges are pending.
Tires dumped: A resident of Washington’s West End told Washington police Saturday that he saw a man in a white, older Chevrolet pickup truck throwing tires over the hill at Hillside Avenue and Ewing Street. The truck has ladder racks.
Tires cut: Tom Skariot of 1496 Allison Ave., told Washington police Sunday that all four tires on his vehicle were cut by vandals.
Television stolen: Courtney Ellis, of 147 W. Walnut St., told Washington police Sunday that her house was burglarized and her 56-inch Samsung television was stolen. She said her bedroom also was ransacked. A window in the rear door was broken.
Money stolen: Lisa Sheets told Washington police Monday $50 was stolen from under the rug in her apartment at Crumrine Towers, South Franklin Street. Charges are pending.
Assault, threat arrest: Christopher Michael Eicher, 23, who told West Brownsville police he is homeless, was arrested Sunday by borough police on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He is accused of punching Aaron King in the face and throwing a brick, hitting Derrian Page, during an incident at 118 Main St. Page told police Eicher also threatened to kill her. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
