Faces DUI charge: Tricia Beth Goldreyer, 22, of 55 Laurie Lane, Amwell, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after police said she called 911 Tuesday to report she had been involved in a crash on Courson Hill Road, Amwell. When state police arrived, they said they found no evidence of a wreck. Goldreyer was taken to Washington Hospital, where police say blood was drawn to determine her blood-alcohol content.
Forgery, theft charges: Brandon Tomcanin, 39, of Coal Center, will be charged by California police with forgery, theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle stemming from a March 19 incident. Police said he is the owner of Brandon’s Auto Repair at Wood Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. He allegedly forged a customer’s name on a two-party insurance check for $1,509.55 that had been issued for repair of a vehicle. He also allegedly put 150 unauthorized miles on the vehicle while it was at the shop. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Theft, receiving charges: Jason Hewitt, 37, of 159 Linden Way, Donora, will be charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole wallets out of two purses of two women during services at Gospel Fellowship Church, Tenth Street and Crest Avenues, Charleroi, Friday. Police said he left before the thefts were discovered but was later stopped by Donora police and admitted to stealing the wallets. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Stuck on tracks: Phylicia Carey, 23, of Belle Vernon,will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after her vehicle got stuck on the railroad tracks off Fifth Street Sunday night. Police said she had difficulty standing and smelled of alcohol. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine her BAC. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Charged in crash: Valetta Ann Williams, 49, of 681 E. Beau St., East Washington, was charged Monday by East Washington police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving and failure to stay in her lane stemming from a two-vehicle crash Dec. 4 in the 600 block of East Beau. She allegedly told police she had taken Vicodin and Lorazepam. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Identity theft arrest: Kayla M. Kailing, 28, of Charleroi, was arrested last week by state police on charges of forgery, access device fraud, using another’s checks and credit cards without permission and identity theft. She is accused of forging checks and using the credit cards of an elderly Fallowfield man between March 2014 and Feb. 17. She was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Harassment, disorderly charges: Tina M. Carrigan, 46, of 2317 Beallsville Road, Marianna, will be charged by state police with harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a disturbance early Wednesday at Lyceum Bar, Marianna. She is accused of pushing and punching one person and knocking another person to the ground. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Sunglasses stolen: Anthony M. Buchanan, 26, of 689 N. Main St., Washington, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing a $200 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut, Tanger Outlets, on Feb. 17. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Janna Louise Harris, 40, of 9 Marie Drive, Washington, was charged Monday with theft by South Strabane police after she allegedly stole $1,127.31 from the cash register at Cracker Barrel, Trinity Point, over a four-month period late last year. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Retail theft charge: Cheryl A. Sabatula, 57, of 200 Reliance Ave., Brownsville, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with retail theft after she allegedly wrote on a price tag to change the price of a television at Sam’s Club, Trinity Point, from $965 to $565. She then purchased the television for the lower price, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Marijuana charge: Kayla Marie Rizzo, 19, of McKees Rocks, was charged Monday by state police with possession of marijuana and speeding following a March 18 traffic stop on Interstate 79 southbound near the north junction with Interstate 70, South Strabane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Fraud charge: Darnell Hudson, 53, of 560 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged Wednesday with welfare fraud after the Department of Public Welfare determined he unlawfully took food stamps and medical benefits totaling close to $3,000 while he was employed between July 2012 and December 2013, a DPW investigator said in a criminal complaint. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
False identification charge: Ashlee M. Kniha, 28, of 428 Fourth Street, Waynesburg, was charged Wednesday with giving police false identification, driving with an expired registration and driving without a driver’s license after she stopped by Washington Police at Wilson and Laurel avenues March 20, city police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
