Southwest Regional Medical Center is preparing for the eighth annual Duck Race at the Greene County Fairgrounds on April 19.

The event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Greene County.

The afternoon will be filled with games, food, prizes, an egg hunt and, of course, the duck race. Participants can adopt rubber ducks for $5 each and buy T-shirts for $10.

All of the ducks will be dumped from the Waynesburg Volunteer Fire Department fire truck at 2:25 p.m. The duck that lands closest to the bull’s eye will win $100 for its contestant. The second closest duck will give the contestant $50, and the third closest duck will win $25. The person who has the furthest duck will also receive $25.
