Police beat April 17
Money, binoculars stolen: Randall W. Sherman of 149 Almond Road told state police Monday loose change, currency and two sets of binoculars were stolen from two vehicles parked on his property. Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Charged in stop: Ronald Brown Jr., 40, of 25 Lincoln Ave., Bulger, was charged Wednesday by McDonald police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, driving under suspension, speeding, riding without a motorycle helmet and other traffic violations stemming from an April 4 traffic stop in the 1500 block of Main Street in Burgettstown. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Cellphone stolen: Maria Jenkins of 307 Second St. told Canonsburg police Tuesday her old cellphone was stolen from the console of her unlocked vehicle. The thief also went through her glovebox.
Fugitive arrest: Stacy L. Senay, 42, of 78 Amity Ridge Road, Amity, was arrested Wednesday by Chartiers police as a fugitive from justice during a traffic stop on Allison Hollow Road. Police learned she was wanted on a warrant on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol by the Preston County, W.Va., sheriff’s office. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail for no longer than 30 days pending extradition to West Virginia. Township police also will charge her with traffic violations.
Card accessed: Lou Ann Prosser of 523 Meadow Lands Farm Lane told Chartiers police Tuesday her debit card information was accessed and used to make a $658 purchase in Pittsburgh.
Theft charge: Travis Mullins, 33, who has no known address, was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of theft for allegedly stealing a North Strabane woman’s Louis Vuitton purse valued at $1,360 last month, township police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller, who set bond at $10,000. Mullins had been in Washington County jail on other charges.
Cards stolen: Scott J. Seabright, 33, of Wheeling, W.Va., was charged Tuesday with theft after he allegedly stole two playing cards from a poker table at The Meadows Casino, 210 Racetrack Road. He reportedly told state police he accidentally picked them up and did not know what to do with them, so he flushed them down the toilet. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Truck damaged: David E. Phillips of Waynesburg told state police Wednesday diesel fuel was sprayed on his pickup truck, damaging the paint, while it was parked at 202 Brownlee Road in Somerset Township. Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Retail theft charge: Bryanne A. Howell, 26, of 56 E. Walnut St., Washington, was charged by South Strabane police Tuesday with retail theft after she allegedly stole jewelry, clothing and shoes valued at $167.99 from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, on April 10. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
