Jury: Local man not guilty of drug-selling

1 min read

A Washington County jury Friday acquitted a Washington resident of selling cocaine in front of a downtown Washington establishment nearly two years ago.

Paul Nathaniel Johnson III, 34, of 925 W. Chestnut St., who went by the nickname “Butters,” was a free man after the jury deliberated for about an hour and a half.

Police used a confidential informant July 16, 2013, outside Ernie’s Freestyle Bar and Restaurant to purchase a gram of a substance that later tested positive for cocaine. Presiding at the trial was Judge John DiSalle.
