Police: Man arrested after violating PFA
A Fredericktown man was arrested early Sunday by state police after he allegedly entered the garage of his estranged girlfriend, dumped cat litter and later was seen in a vehicle outside her home in violation of the protection-from-abuse order she obtained against him Friday.
Justin Isaiah Campbell, 29, of 403 Front St., is accused of entering the garage at the home of Amber Lee Rozell Sunday morning.
Campbell was arrested on burglary and other charges.
Rozell told police several attempts were made Saturday night and Sunday to serve Campbell with the order. She was at a tavern Saturday night in Brownsville when she saw Campbell.
She contacted East Bethlehem police, who served him with the PFA order and told him to leave the establishment. Rozell told township police he wrote messages on her vehicle while it was parked in the lot.
Rozell said Campbell returned to the tavern, so she left. He allegedly followed her in his vehicle, at one point ramming her vehicle from behind, police said. Rozell again called police and two troopers responded.
Rozell returned home. She told police Campbell sent her Snapchat messages, informing her in the last one that it would be “the last time she called police,” according to court documents. She noticed her garage had been disturbed and that a box of cat litter had been dumped on the stairs. She called police for the fourth time in a 24-hour period.
After talking with Rozell and leaving her home, police again tried to talk with Campbell. Rozell then called state police to report that Campbell was driving in front of her home.
Campbell was taken into custody during a traffic stop near his home. He reportedly told police he used shoe polish to write on Rozell’s vehicle, and that he loved Rozell and wanted to save their relationship.
Police said Campbell told officers he entered her garage by sliding under the door and dumped the dirty cat litter because he was upset.
Campbell was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, stalking, criminal mischief, harassment and violating the PFA. He was placed in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond. A hearing on the criminal charges is set for April 30 before District Judge Joshua Kanalis. A hearing on the PFA violation will be scheduled.
