1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Firefighters have rescued a family of three from a burning home in Pittsburgh’s Beechview section.

Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Cook says the man, woman and their 7-year-old girl were in one of the home’s three apartments when the fire started on the back porch around 11 p.m. Monday.

They were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital and were reported in good condition.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports two other residents got out when they heard a popping sound, saw a bright glow and smelled smoke.

Cook says firefighters were able to contain the fire to the back porch area. The home sustained smoke and water damage.
