PITTSBURGH (AP) – Quick intervention from fellow officers and paramedics has saved the life of a Pittsburgh policewoman who suddenly stopped breathing at a station house.

A police spokeswoman says the officers performed CPR and paramedics stationed next door rushed to the stricken officer’s side with a defibrillator.

Spokeswoman Sonya Toler says the officer stopped breathing around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday while on duty at the Zone 6 police station in the city’s West End section.

She was revived and is hospitalized at UPMC Mercy.
