Intermediate Unit 1 elects new board
Intermediate Unit 1 elected its new board of directors March 24 during at convention at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe, Canonsburg.
The following were elected and will start July 1:
• Don Underwood – Avella Area School District
• George Safin – California Area School District
• Joseph Zupancic – Canon-McMillan School District
• Richard Krause – Carmichaels Area School District
• Robert Mitchell – Jefferson-Morgan School District
• Thomas Lane – McGuffey School District
• Thomas McMurray – Peters Township School District
• Linda Clemons – Washington School District
Intermediate Unit 1, based in Coal Center near California, serves 25 school districts and five vocational schools.
It is a regional education agency that strives to provide educational support to students, parents, educators, school administrators and communities.
