Lawren Hilverding

WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Lawren Hilverding and Drew Grandas were selected by the high school faculty as the Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for April.

Hilverding, of Spraggs, is the daughter of Tiffini Tenney and Daniel Hilverding II. She has a 3.875 grade-point average.

She is president of student council, an officer for TV workshop and is a member of National Honor Society, Alpha Beta, prom committee, library club, SADD, academic league, The Future is Mine, Spanish Club and Leo Club.

She participates in powderpuff football and was selected Miss Merry Christmas and most outgoing, senior superlative. She also volunteers at Bowlby Public Library, Giant Eagle’s white cane day and at school, for events such as the used book sale.

She plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in math and secondary education.

Grandas, of Waynesburg, son of Andrew Grandas III and Renee Grandas. He has a 4.0 grade-point average.

He is a member of National Honor Society, varsity club, Spanish Club and young voters club. Grandas is a four-year letterman in soccer, was a member of all-section soccer in 2014 and is captain of boys varsity soccer. He received the Consol Energy Improvement Award, 4.0 award and English, history and math awards. He is a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church and volunteers at the humane society, Rolling Meadows and Greene County Historical Museum.

He plans to attend Penn State University and major in astronomy.
