PennDOT maintenance schedule for week of April 27

The state Department of Transportation issued the following tentative work plan for Greene County starting Monday. Maintenance activities are conducted weather permitting. Jerry Simkovic, Greene County maintenance manager, urges motorists to drive with caution throughout all work areas.

Crews will be conducting the following activities:

• Abutment wall repairs will be done on state Route 2018 in Whiteley Township.

• Bridge cleaning will continue on various routes in eastern Greene County.

• Pavement patching will be done on Route 18 and Route 21, from the West Virginia line to the Washington County line.

•Replace cross pipe on Jollytown Road in Gilmore Township.

•Pavement patching is scheduled for various routes in Carmichaels, Clarksville and Jefferson areas.

• Crack Sealing will continue on state Route 218 from Blacksville to Waynesburg.

• Slide repair and washout repairs on Bristoria Road in Jackson and Center Townships.

• State roads will be reviewed and signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.

• SCI-Greene will conduct roadside litter pick up operations on I-79. Please drive carefully when encountering this moving operation.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concerns. This number can also be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
