Cops: Pa. slay suspect says victim threatened to shoot him

BRADDOCK HILLS (AP) – The suspect in a stabbing that left a 63-year-old man dead in western Pennsylvania tells police he did it after the victim had threatened to shoot him.

Darrell Carter is charged with criminal homicide, burglary and other offenses in the death Sunday of 63-year-old Robert Sellmon In Braddock Hills.

Police said the 59-year-old Carter told officers: “I did it. He threatened to shoot me and I don’t play with guns, so I stabbed him.”

Carter is jailed without bail pending a preliminary hearing Friday. Online court records didn’t list a lawyer to comment on the charges.

Police say Carter had dated Sellmon’s cousin. They said Carter was mad Sellmon let the cousin move in with him after an alleged domestic violence episode.
