City house damaged in fire
No one was injured Tuesday when an electrical malfunction sparked a fire that damaged a house in Washington.
City fire Chief Linn Brookman said the 9 a.m. fire at 279 N. Franklin St. started in the basement and spread to a kitchen in the house owned by James Stollar of Washington.
He said the power and water were shut off to the apartments in the house due to the damages.
Firefighters from Peters and North Strabane townships were on standby during the blaze, Brookman said.
