A Burgettstown man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges after he allegedly sold heroin to confidential informants on two occasions last year.

John Eugene Boyer, 71, of 35 Reed Ave., was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on four counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin, and two counts of possession of heroin and paraphernalia.

McDonald police were contacted in April 2014 by an informant who indicated a willingness to purchase the drug from Boyer as part of a controlled buy. The informant reportedly purchased 10 stamp bags of heroin from Boyer May 14 and again a week later.

Boyer was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing will be May 13 before Havelka.
