Police beat April 30
Charged in stop: Stephen J. Morin, 45, of Pittsburgh, was charged Monday by state police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and careless driving stemming from an April 14 traffic stop on Interstate 79 northbound near the Marianna exit, Amwell. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
Six charged: Thomas Greene, 20, of Turtle Creek, Devin Lomax, 21, of Pickerington, Ohio, and Daniel Sapp, 19, of Streetsboro, Ohio, are being charged by California police with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance after police were called early Sunday to their apartment at Vulcan Village for a report of loud music. Numerous people reportedly were inside. Police said it was the second time they were called. Greene was also cited after the first incident late Saturday but did not comply and continued the party after officers left, police said. Kowan Scott, 23, of Easton, also was charged with violating the ordinance for the first incident. Police charged Jared Michael Schaut, 22, of St. Marys, and Dylan Matthew Kinzey, 19, of Grapeville, for violating the ordinance in separate incidents on Second Street last week. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Bad check charges faced: Marcy Bell Gurewicz, 35, and Zeb Gurewicz, 31, are facing charges of bad checks, theft and conspiracy after California police said Marcy Gurewicz allegedly wrote a bad check to 84 Lumber, Poplar Street, Nov. 26. She was initially charged in a private criminal complaint and the two failed to repay $436 to the company, police said.
Charged in assault: William M. Jonas, 60, of 117 Patio Drive, Canonsburg, was charged last week by Cecil police with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of children after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a girl between May 2005 and August 2006 at a Cecil home. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Assault arrest: Andrew J. Fazio, 43, of 303 Second St., Monongahela, was arrested Tuesday night by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault and criminal mischief. He is accused of hitting Shannon Lynn in the face and then throwing a brick on the hood and trunk of her car. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Corruption, exposure charges: Bruce E. Kempton, 63, of 4528 Prosperity Pike, Morris Township, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of corruption of minors and indecent exposure stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred between January 1991 and January 1995. A girl told state police he watched her take showers and had other inappropriate contact with her. He was released on $100,000 unsecured bond.
