A New Eagle man wanted by California Borough police over accusations he fired gunshots into the ceiling of an apartment turned himself in to authorities Thursday to face charges in the case.

District Judge Mark Wilson sent Robert Christopher Margoni, 26, to Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond after he was arraigned on a string of charges stemming from the April 18 incident on Ash Street, court records show.

Police accused Margoni of firing a .380-caliber pistol in the apartment where he spent the night following a party there. The residents claimed he fired the gun to threaten them, and stated he would resist if they called police.

He is charged with intimidation of witnesses, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault, carrying a firearm without a license and trespassing.

The jail released him later Thursday after he posted bond.
