Receiving charge: Steven Michael Molish, 37, of Daisytown, will be charged by California police with receiving stolen property after he allegedly sold a stolen Troy Bilt pressure washer for $25 to a person in the borough April 24. The buyer was suspicious because the pressure washer was worth more and asked police to check. Police determined it was stolen from West Pike Run Township. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Home invasion: Chartiers police are investigating a report of a home invasion at the residence of Robert W. Grayson, 673 N. Main St., about 9:30 p.m. April 23. Grayson told police that his daughter called him and said three men and a woman forced their way into the residence. One of the men had a gun. The culprits allegedly stole a cellphone, a pack of cigarettes and $2.
Child endangerment charge: Cumberland Township police charged Christopher W. Davis, 29, of 220 Kurans Road, Carmichaels, with child endangerment, reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers said he overdosed on heroin while caring for a 2-year-old boy April 13. Police said the boy found a used hypodermic needle next to Davis in the bathroom and carried it into the home’s living room with it, prompting another occupant to call for help. Medics responded to the house and revived Davis, police said.
Two plates stolen: South Hills Kia on Washington Road reported license plates on two of its cars were missing April 28.
DUI alleged in accident: Tracy L. Gallick, 49, of Maple Drive, Library, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Thursday following an accident at Bebout and Valleybrook roads. Police said they found Gallick sitting in her “heavily disabled” car and detected a strong odor of alcohol. Police said Gallick was eastbound on Valleybrook Road and tried to turn right onto Bebout Road, but ran over a stop sign. Gallick refused medical attention at the scene.
Purse stolen: An employee of Max & Erma’s on Washington Road said her Coach change purse containing $400 in cash was stolen Wednesday. The employee told police she used money in the purse to make change and left it at a cash register. When she returned, it was missing.
Motorcyclist injured: Charles W. Pierce III, 44, of Scenery Hill, was injured when he crashed his motorcycle as he tried to avoid hitting a vehicle that stopped abruptly to avoid other traffic on Interstate 70 eastbound near the Beau Street exit in South Strabane, state police said. Pierce tried to brake, but his motorcycle slid on its side and into the stopped vehicle. The motorcycle slid into the median. The other driver stopped, checked on Pierce and then left. Pierce, who was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, will be cited for following too closely.
Driver injured: Amanda Schuler, 25, of Daisytown, was injured Wednesday morning when her vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Jose P. Riosdiaz, 24, of Newburg, N.Y. State police said they were both traveling west on Interstate 70 near the Beau Street interchange with Schuler in the left lane and the trucker in the right lane. Riosdiaz changed lanes, hitting Schuler’s vehicle and forcing it into a construction barrier, police said. Schuler was taken to Washington Hospital. Riosdiaz will be cited for failure to stay in his lane.
Assault arrest: Joyce Ann Cole, 48, of 616 Fayette St., Washington, was arrested early Thursday by Washington police after she allegedly assaulted Anthony Wormsley at their home. She ran from police and tried to hide behind some bushes before being taken into custody about a half block away, police said. She was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment. Cole was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Money stolen: Jeff Tenney of 996 Jefferson Ave. told Washington police a relative stole money from him early Thursday. He said she knocked on his door just after 2 a.m. and entered his apartment. She reportedly asked him for a glass of water and then to use the bathroom. When she left, he said he discovered $130 stolen from his wallet. Also stolen was a lock box containing $325, Tenney said. Charges are pending.
Rims stolen: Eric Williams of Hall Avenue told Washington police Wednesday that four 20-inch Diablo chrome tire rims with maroon inserts were stolen from a garage in the 300 block of Alley E.
Woman assaulted: Shavon Moze, 36, of East Hallam Avenue, told Washington police Wednesday a man spit at her and threatened her outside her home. Charges are pending.
